SMJ publishes monthly continuing medical education (CME) articles with online CME quizzes that have been pre-approved for the Singapore Medical Council (SMC) Category 3B CME Programme.

In each issue of the SMJ, at least two CME articles are published. The passing mark for each CME quiz is 60%, and one CME point per quiz is awarded for successful candidates. The editorial office will submit the list of successful candidates to the SMC. The MCR numbers of successful candidates will be posted on the SMJ website one week after the closing date of the CME quizzes.

    SMA Member/SMJ CME User Login Register as New SMA CME User
    (for non-SMA members only)

    SMA Members Login Instructions

    1. Select SMA Member Login. You will be directed to the user account login page.
       
    2. Log in with your Member ID (Email) and password. If you are unsure about your password, please click on the "Forgot your password?" link.
       
    3. Once you have logged in, you will be redirected to the SMJ CME Quiz Listing. Select the quiz you wish to attempt, e.g. Set A (Code SMJ201707A).
       
    4. On the quiz page, you may click on the article link (above the instructions) to read the full article. Complete the quiz and submit your answers as per the instructions.
       
    5. Upon successful submission of your answers, you will see your quiz score and result. To attempt another quiz, click on Back to SMJ CME Quiz Listing. You are not required to log in again.
       
    6. You will receive an email confirmation with your score for the submitted quiz.

    Non-SMA Members Payment Instructions

    1. To begin, please follow the steps below:
      1. For first-time users, create an SMA CME user account by clicking on Register as SMA CME User.
        Set up a user account by providing the following information:
        • Full name (as in NRIC/Passport/FIN)
        • MCR number (e.g. M123456E)
        • Private email (this will serve as your user ID)
        • Password/confirm password

    Check to ensure that the information provided is correct and then click on “Register”. You will be linked to the login page where you can log in with your SMA CME user ID and password.

    1. For returning users, select SMA Member/SMA CME User Login, then log in with your SMA CME user ID and password. If you have forgotten your password, click on “Forgot your password?” Provide the email address that you used to create the user account to retrieve your password, then log in with your SMA CME user ID and password.
       
    1. Once you have logged in, you will be redirected to the SMJ CME Quiz Listing. Click on the quiz you wish to attempt, e.g. Set A (Code SMJ201707A).
       
    2. You will be directed to make payment of SGD 21.40 (inclusive of 7% GST) via PayPal (please see Note below). Please ensure that you have your PayPal account or credit card details ready.
       
    3. Upon successful payment, you will be redirected to the quiz listing. Click on a quiz in the issue/month you have paid for.
       
    4. On the quiz page, you may click on the article link (above the instructions) to read the full article. Complete the quiz and submit your answers as per the instructions.
       
    5. Upon successful submission of your answers, you will see your quiz score and result. To attempt another quiz from the same month (e.g. July 2017 Issue Set B), click on Back to SMJ CME Quiz Listing. You are not required to log in again.
       
    6. You will receive an email confirmation with your score for the submitted quiz.

    Note:

    1. Making payment for a quiz in the selected issue only enables you to access quizzes within that issue (e.g. July 2017 Issue Sets A & B). To attempt CME quizzes published in a different month (e.g. August 2017 Issue, if available), go to SMJ CME Quiz Listing, and select a quiz from the August issue. You will then be directed to make payment via PayPal. Upon successful payment, you will be redirected to the selected quiz. You can attempt all quizzes in that issue without further payment.

    2. Please ensure that the correct month is selected before making payment. There will be no refunds once payment has been made.

    3. An SMA CME user account is not an SMA Membership account. SMA CME users will not be able to access certain members-only pages on the SMA website.
